Acanceh Municipality is one of the 106 municipalities in the Mexican state of
Yucatan. Its county seat is the eponymous town Acanceh. It is a municipality
located in central upstate area belonged to the so-called because of the Yucatan
henequen agricultural use of land that favors the cultivation of agave.
Along with neighboring municipalities for many years devoted to the late
twentieth century, the henequen industry as the main productive activity. With
the decline of the agricultural industry was in Acanceh a process of
diversification of agricultural activity.
Today in the municipal territory is cultivated mainly maize, beans and
vegetables. Some varieties of peppers are also harvested in the region, and some
fruit.
There is the breeding of cattle, as well as swine and poultry.
